Welcome to the Hawkeye Area Council

The Hawkeye Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, proudly serves the youth in Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn & Washington Counties. The Council provides programs to over 5,600 youth each year. As one of the area's largest youth programs, the BSA provides a program that builds character, teaches valuable life skills, and allows youth to have fun while learning.

    Time for Silver Beaver Nominations

    It is time to nominate deserving volunteers for the 2017 Silver Beaver Award. 

    The Silver Beaver Award is the council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of this award are registered adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service.

    Nomination formsExternal Link and instructions can be found online.  Nominations can be submitted electronically or mailed to the Council Office. The nomination form along with two letters of recommendation are due by December 15, 2017.  When submitting the nomination form, please include as much correct and relevant information about the nominee as possible.  Questions related to the Silver Beaver nomination process can be addressed to Dennis Gormley at [Click for member's page].

    Silver Beaver recipients are recognized at the Council Dinner on March 29, 2018.
