The Philmont Training Center offers great opportunists for you to experience Philmont as a family!  Each week of the summer, a variety of courses are offered that cover all aspects of Scouting.

Programs are planned for all members of the family—infant through adult. Family members enjoy a staff-led program of hiking, tours, handicrafts, games, campfires, and outdoor activities. Family program groups meet while conferences are in regular session.

While the primary purpose of the Philmont Training Center is to host conferences, the opportunity for families to join their Scouter and enjoy a wide range of family programs is what makes PTC unique.

The Philmont Training Center offers a full, organized program for every member of the family—from infants to spouses. Family members will be joined by others in their age group and will participate in a carefully designed, age- and ability-specific program under the leadership of trained, experienced staff. Groups are arranged by age

There is something for everyone to do no matter what your interests are.  Some activities include pony rides, horse rides, shooting sports, white water rafting, museum tours, back country hikes, a newly remodeled craft center, human foosball, a new gaga ball pit, a low and high ropes course, and much more!

The accommodations are the "canvas condos" AKA tents.  The tents are 10' by 12' with 2 mattressed cots, an electric outlet, and a light.  The shower houses are newly remodeled and all 3 meals are provided in the dining hall.

If you register by December 31, there is an early bird special! So hurry up and pack you bags and hit the dusty trail to a family vacation you will not forget!  For more information please visit  http://www.philmontscoutranch.org/PTC.aspx External Linkor ask Wally at 319-862-0541.
