Three Rivers Program Fair

Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion, IA

 

The 2010 Three Rivers Program Fair will be held on Thursday Aug. 12 at 6pm at the Lutheran church of the Resurrection in Marion.  Again this year we will have information and displays from ALL of the key areas that affect all our units such as:

Popcorn-Membership-Activities and Camping-Advancement-Unit Comittee Development-Order of the Arrow- And on and on and on...

Every Three Rivers unit should already have this annual event on their calendar as we kickoff a new scouting year with fun and energy...  We want every parent to konw they are welcome and encouraged to come and ask any and all questions and learn more about scouting and what your youth are doing in our programs and what possibilites exist for your units in many areas.  Leaders wont want to miss out on this one stop shopping opportunity to get your calednars set for 2010-11 and prepare your youth for a fantastic year in Scouting.

Cub Scout Leader Specific Training provides great tools, resources, tips, and tricks for all Cub Scout leaders. This training takes approximately 3 hours and will provide essential skills for a fun Scouting experience.

If a leader has taken this training previously for a different position, he/she should take it again for the new position.

Note: to be considered fully trained, leaders must also take “Youth Protection” and “This is Scouting” online via www.myscouting.org.

Boy Scout Adult Leader Training
This training course concentrates on troop operation including meeting planning, working with scouts, patrol method, and much more.
This is a three part course. Parts 1 & 2 are completed in a classroom setting with each session lasting approximately 4 hours. The course culminates with a weekend camping experience (Part 3) where leaders will have the opportunity to practice the leadership skills learned in the classroom sessions as take part in a variety of outdoor skill and programing discussions at the local Boy Scout camp.
Leaders must attend all 3 sessions to complete the course. Additionally, to be considered fully trained, leaders must complete “Youth Protection” and “This is Scouting” training online through www.myscouting.org.

Den Chief Training is a course designed to enhance the confidence and leadership skills of all Den Chiefs throughout the council. Den Chief training is recommended for all Boy Scouts who wish to work as a Den Chief in a Cub Scout den. The course is two hours in length. An interactive version is also available online at www.myscouting.org.
