2010 Camp Theme - Time Travelers
While traveling through time, you will enjoy the activities, sights, and sounds of that time.
This July 4th weekend camp is designed as a group event to give everyone the opportunity to explore and experience our council camp. A camping group could be family, friends, neighbors, and with or without Scouts. A Scouting unit must follow the requirements of 2-deep leadership and the required ratio of adults to youth appropriate for their ages.
Bring your own tent, pop-up camper, or even a large motor home; however, there are no hook-ups for water or sewer, and no dump station at camp. There is limited electricity for medical purposes.
Being held on a Boy Scout Camp facility, this camp is focused on the family and the enjoyment of the outdoors in a safe environment. We are offering a wholesome atmosphere. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas and not in view of the youth. Possession of alcohol or fireworks of any kind will result in immediate dismissal from camp.
Camp Fees –registration is planned to start April 15. Forms can be found on the website – through the link below. More information can be found on the Main page under For Volunteers then click on Scouting forms and scroll down to Family Camp. Registration will be turned into the Council Service Center for this event. Deadlines for registration are on forms.
The fee is $10 per night per camping unit, plus $2.00 per person program fee.
There is a $5 late fee per after June 18, with reservations closing June 25.
Electricity for medical purposes is $5 per day. Extra people will pay $2.00 at the gate.
Camp shirts are available for pre-order at $10-$13 depending on size.
BSA Annual Health and Medical forms A and C are required with registration. Physical form B is recommended. Direct link to this form is http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/34605_Letter.pdf
Take part in the program areas as you wish, as there is no set rotation. Due to the long hilly walk, you may want to visit all activities in one area, and then switch. There is plenty of time for planned activities, quality family time, or just to sit back, relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Age appropriate activities include such things as archery, BB gun, 22 rifle, climbing, swimming, fishing, nature walks, crafts, stargazing, movie and game night, camp-wide potluck, community campfire, and Interfaith Chapel Service.
July 3 – Noon to 2 pm – registration and camp set up. Program areas will be open from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. There will be an all-camp potluck in the evening (bring your own meat to cook on our grills and something to share), community campfire program, games, a movie, or just relax.
July 4 – All meals are on your own. Program areas are open before and after lunch. There are no planned activities for the evening. You may attend the fireworks in Central City, stay in your campsite, or perhaps play a game in the dining hall.
July 5 – After the morning flag ceremony, there is a FREE hot breakfast for all. Everyone must be packed and ready to leave by 4:00 pm.
Notes:
- No open toed shoes except at shower house.
- All youth and adult medicines, except those for emergency use, are stored with Health officer.
- Bring a digital camera if you have one, to help us with publicity pictures for next year.
