Archives for December 2011

We will be hosting important informational meetings at various locations during the next three months for anyone wanting to find out what we have in store for our Cub Scout and Boy Scout Camps in 2012. Cub Scout and Boy Scout sessions will run concurrently this year beginning at 7:00 p.m. each night. Each unit should identify a Camping Coordinator to facilitate the recruitment and registration process for all summer camping activities. At the meeting, they will receive a combined media disc with all the information they need to do their job. For Cub Scout leaders, we’ll also walk through the on-line registration process and cover the changes we have made.

The American Legion of Iowa has always been a strong supporter of Scouting, and that support continues today.  The Department of Iowa offers scholarship opportunities for Boy Scouts through the Eagle Scout of the Year program and recognition for adult scout leaders through the Adult Boy Scout of the Year, Adult Cub Scout of the Year, and the Square Knot Award.
