Boy Scouts of America | Hawkeye Area Council

In 2012, Hawkeye Area Council will be sponsoring a council-led Philmont contingent.  For more information view the information here or contact the Council Service Center.

The Hawkeye Area Council is taking a contingent to the 2013 National Scout Jamboree which is scheduled to be held at The Summit: Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. Each Troop in the contingent will consist of 36 youth and 4 adult leaders.  Pre-registration for the event occurs now!

This year we are offering an opportunity to attend a workshop for Light of Christ and Parvuli Dei. The workshop will be held at St .Elizabeth parish center on Sat., Nov. 6th. It will run from 8:30 a.m. until noon. An adult partner must accompany all Scouts. All Scouts interested should register in advance for the workshop at the scout shop when they purchase their workbooks. Please plan on working on your books a little each night until completed. These cannot be done the night before the workshop.

The Hawkeye Area Council Committee for Catholic Scouting has scheduled a session of classes to help Catholic scouts complete the requirements for the Ad Altare Dei award.
Classes will be held on Sunday afternoons in Cedar Rapids. Starting on 9-12-10 and will finish on 11-21-10. Class will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church from 4:30PM to 5:45 PM each week.
