Tribe Wapsipinicon
"The Order of the Black Crescent"
Used from sometime in the late 1940's until the council was granted an Order of the Arrow charter in 1952. |
|
The totem of our lodge, the black crescent, has it's origins in an earlier honor camper society called Tribe Wapsipinicon, "The Order of the Black Crescent" which was formed in 1944. Shown at the right, this black felt crescent was cut out and worn on the sleeve (with the points down) in the early days of the organization. |
